This is as the police in Bayelsa have placed a 36-hour curfew on the state’s waterways to ensure safety during today’s general elections. Dickson said that it was important for the people to recognise that as a civilian operation, the police and civil forces must play their assigned responsibility while the military operate from the outer corridor. INEC delists APC candidates in Cross River few hours to elections Friday, February 22, 2019 11:11 pm INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has directed its Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Cross River to remove the names of all candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) from the ballot for the general elections. The REC, Dr Frankland Briyai disclosed this to newsmen on Friday in Calabar. According to him, the decision was in compliance with a Federal High Court order which recognised the Etim John-led State Executive Council of the party. The court consequently ordered the Commission to recognise only candidates from the John-led State Executive Council. However, INEC directed that the names and logo of the party should be retained, pending when the National Working Committee of APC would submit the names of candidates from the Etim John executive. Two more women accused R&B artist R. Kelly of sexual misconduct during a Thursday press conference in New York City.  Latresa Scaff, 40, and Rochelle Washington, 39, allege that R. Kelly, whose given name is Robert Kelly, sexually abused and harassed the two women when they were minors after a concert in Baltimore, Maryland, around 1995 or 1996, The New York Times reports . “I am speaking out because I want to encourage other victims who I know must be out there to come forward as well,” Scaff said. Washington added, “I want victims to know it’s not their fault.”  The two women, represented by attorney Gloria Allred, said they attended an R. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Buhari arrived at the Daura helipad at exactly 4 p.m. in company of some of his close relations and aides. The aides included Malam Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Malam Bashir Tama, his Chief Security Officer, and Malam Lawal Kazaure, his Chief of Protocol. President Buhari was received on arrival by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar, and some well-wishers.
